Internet AUP
Internet AUP
An acceptable use policy (AUP) is a document that stipulates constraints and practices that a user must agree to for access to or use of a corporate network, the internet, or other computing resources. Many businesses and educational institutions require employees or students to sign an AUP before being granted a network ID. From an IT perspective, an AUP sets out rules on what a user can and cannot do when using computer and technology resources. AUPs can apply to devices the organization supplies and to personal devices that the user provides. An AUP spells out acceptable and unacceptable employee behavior and actions. It also provides a company with a legal mechanism to compel compliance, and it stipulates the penalties for noncompliance.
