Lowndes County Board of Education Head Start commend our parents/guardians for assisting their children in attending school each day so they will be prepared to transition into the Lowndes County Public School system.
It is important that our Head Start students attend school daily. If the monthly average daily attendance rate in a center-based program falls below 85 percent, our Head Start program must analyze the causes of absenteeism. The analysis must include a study of the pattern of absences for each child, including the reason as well as the number of absences that occur on consecutive days. The results must be reported to the Office of Head Start monthly.
One of the most important things a child can do to achieve academic success is also one of the most basic: going to school every day. In fact, research has shown that a child’s attendance record may be the biggest factor influencing their academic success.
So, if you believe Lowndes County Board of Education Head Start is needed in Lowndes County, please send your child to school daily. If your child is ill it will be regarded as an excused absence.
