Join Montgomery Art Guild award winner Elana Hagler for a multi-weekend painting class. Learn how to effectively compose, lay-out, and paint personal and meaningful still-life paintings. Bring a box of objects, patterns, books, and photos that are precious to you and that you would like to capture, and we will work on arranging them and expressing them on canvas. This workshop is meant for students who already have a basic knowledge of painting and would like to take their compositions, color-relationships, and ability to create a believable sense of light and air to the next level. Saturdays and Sundays, August 5, 6, 12, and 13 Time: Saturdays 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. and Sundays 1 to 5 P.M. Instructor: Elana Hagler Cost: $265 for members/ $325 for non-members Both Saturdays a box lunch from the cafe will be available for $10. Lunches must be ordered at the time of class registration. The Open House Assembly will take place in the school's gymnasium promptly at 6:00 p.m. Parents will be able to visit classrooms from 6:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Bookbags will be given to the first 50 students to arrive. We look forward to seeing you there!

[ details ] Film at the Museum: How to Steal a Million

Join us for the classic Audrey Hepburn Film How to Steal a Million. describes it as follows, “The daughter (Audrey Hepburn) of a wealthy Frenchman (Hugh Griffith) who creates counterfeit art learns her father is in danger of being exposed as a crook. She decides to steal the family's forged Cellini sculpture from a museum before experts can examine it and enlists a society burglar (Peter O'Toole) to help her.” Assistant Curator of Education Kaci Norman will introduce the film and lead a brief discussion following. The Museum will provide complimentary popcorn, and beverages will be available for purchase. .
