Head Start believes that the parents are the primary educators of their children. An individual education plan is developed for each child, and parents and teachers work together to enrich the child’s educational environment so that children enjoy learning, develop a positive self attitude toward school and reach their maximum potential.
Lowndes County Head Start program provides services to children who have other needs. Special resources are available in the areas of speech and language therapy, physical development, emotional and psychological services. At least ten percent of the enrolled children must be disabled and are mainstreamed into the regular Head Start classroom.
